March 2: Zeppelin (1971)
Michael York plays a British spy in Germany during the First World War who attempts to sabotage a prototype zeppelin before it can complete its top-secret mission to England. This espionage thriller also stars Elke Sommer and Peter Carsten. G 1hr 40min
March 9: Five Weeks in a Balloon (1962)
In 1862, a British scientist has many adventures as he flies across Africa in a giant hot air balloon. Based on the book by Jules Verne, the film was directed by Irwin Allen and costars Cedric Hardwicke, Barbara Eden, Red Buttons, Peter Lorre, and former teen idol Fabian. PG 1hr 41min
March 16: The Red Tent (1969)
The true story of the airship Italia’s 1928 Arctic expedition, the ship’s crash landing, the survivors’ desperate attempts to stay alive, and international rescue efforts. Peter Finch, Sean Connery, and Claudia Cardinale star in this Canadian/Soviet production under the direction of Mikhail Kalatozov. G 2hr 38min
March 23: Master of the World (1961)
In 1868, a scientist and a government agent try to thwart the schemes of a virulent pacifist who is using his amazing airship, “The Albatross,” to enforce peace on earth by destroying all military targets. March 30: The Hindenburg (1975)
