Research For Writers: Resources To Help Make Your Story Authentic

Does your novel need some good details to give it some oomph? Are you struggling to be accurate while telling a good story? In this workshop, you’ll learn where to find the information you need to create accurate details in your storytelling. Emphasis will be on historical fiction, but many concepts can be applied across genres.

We’ll explore practical resources such as:

*Google Maps
*YouTube
*Ancestry sites
*Census records
*Travel
*Library
*Naming your characters with historical accuracy
*The role of a copyeditor in the accuracy of details

The workshop is taught by Camille Di Maio, bestselling author of eight historical fiction novels, including The Memory of Us and The Beautiful Strangers. Her books have been translated into five languages.

Are you a writer? Whether or not you’re published, you can benefit from this supportive writer’s group. Listen to informative talks on a variety of writing-related topics and meet other writers and aspiring writers. Led by local author/editor Brian Forrester. For ages 13+.
