The first in the long-running, best-selling Capital Crimes series featuring murder and intrigue in the nation’s capital and environs, Murder in the White House is a bit dated, but the author’s position as the only child of President Harry S. Truman gave her inside knowledge, and its depiction of life in the corridors of power and privilege still resonates.
