Turning Pages: “Horse” by Geraldine Brooks (WRL)

May 21 @ 6:30 pm

Free

This month’s title is Horse, by Geraldine Brooks

Lexington was the greatest racehorse in 19th-century America. Raised from a foal by enslaved groom Jarret, the two navigate the perils of pre-Civil War America to achieve the heights of the racing world. And in 21st-century Washington DC, art history student Theo finds a decrepit painting of a thoroughbred and traces it back to Lexington’s world.
