Join us in-person or on Zoom for this month’s discussion of Ella Minnow Pea, by Mark Dunn. On a remote South Carolina island, a statue to the inventor of the sentence “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog,” begins losing its letters. The local government bans words that contain them, with dire consequences for those who do. Mail to and from the island shows the increasing toll on the writers, with people finding ingenious and funny solutions to get around the restrictions.
