Throwback Thursday Film Series

Now in its 19th year, the Throwback Thursday Film Series screens a variety of classic movies for an adult audience. April Theme: April Fools April 7: Heaven Can Wait (1978), 2:00-3:45 p.m. Warren Beatty directs and stars in this appealing romantic comedy about angels, an accidental death, and getting a second chance at life and love. The film costars Julie Christie, Buck Henry, and James Mason. PG April 14: This is Spinal Tap (1984), 2:00-3:30 p.m.) This hilarious “rockumentary” follows the disastrous American comeback tour of a middling British heavy metal band named Spinal Tap. Rob Reiner directed with Michael McKean and Christopher Guest playing two of the hapless band mates. R April 21: Local Hero (1983), 2:00-3:55 p.m. An epic culture clash ensues when a Texas power company executive is sent to a tiny seaside village in Scotland with orders to purchase local rights for oil exploration. This droll Scottish comedy stars Peter Riegert and Burt Lancaster under the direction of Bill Forsyth. PG April 28: No film this week Free admission. Doors open 1 hour prior to showtime.
