Novel Ideas: A Contemporary Book Club

May 25, 2022 @ 2:00 pm

Free

Novel Ideas explores classic and contemporary fiction and nonfiction from around the world. This group will sample critically acclaimed and prize-winning titles with open and inclusive discussion.

Join us in-person or virtually to discuss Cilka’s Journey by Heather Morris.

Cilka is 18 years old when she is liberated from Auschwitz, but the Russians consider her a collaborator because she was sexually exploited by the camp commandant. Sent to a Siberian gulag, she survives with the help of a new family of fellow prisoners.

To join virtually, please find the meeting link and details in the event listing at wrl.org/events.

Note: Beginning in June the Novel Ideas book club will no longer meet. Anyone interested in contemporary works is welcome to join Turning Pages’ lively discussions at the Williamsburg Library on third Tuesdays at 6:45 p.m. Both groups are led by Adult Services librarian Andrew Smith.
