The Ford’s Colony Dance Band, with its 17 musicians, will perform a “A Festival of Latin American Music” at the Williamsburg Library Theatre.  They will be kicking off a week-long celebration leading up to Pan American Day on April 14th.  That’s the day when the Organization of American States was founded in 1930.  Its purpose is to provide opportunities for the 35 member countries, including the U.S., to establish mutually beneficial relationships.  Its founding is celebrated with parades, plays, and concerts.  Tonight, you’ll hear the many different styles of Latin American music with songs like: “The Girl From Ipanema” (Bossa Nova), “Frenesi” (Rumba), “Green Eyes” (Beguine), and “Tequila” (Latin Rock). Admission is free – donations are accepted.
