Easter Sunrise Service on Jamestown Island

All are welcome to attend the 2022 Easter Sunrise Service on Historic Jamestown Island.

Easter is Sunday, April 17, 2022. The service will begin at 7:00am. Arrive early and plan on a ten minute walk from the parking area to the riverfront where the service will be held. Representatives from local churches will participate in the program.

This event is FREE! Tickets/ Reservations are not required.

Please note: the Easter Service is held outside of park hours and bathroom facilities may not be available. It is recommended to wear practical shoes suitable for ground that may be muddy. Bringing lawn chairs and lap blankets is recommended. Wearing masks is encouraged.

For more than 65 years, people have gathered at the foot of the Cross to celebrate Easter, making this one of the longest continually-running sunrise services in the Country. This event is coordinated by community volunteers, in cooperation with Preservation Virginia and the National Park Service.
