Could Drone Technology Help Improve Cardiac Arrest Response? @ JCCL
Come see the future of emergency response in action!
The James City County Fire and Police Departments, in partnership with Duke Health and VCU, are conducting an American Heart Association-funded research study to evaluate whether drones can improve emergency response during suspected cardiac arrest, particularly in rural areas.
When a cardiac arrest is reported, a drone carrying an automated external defibrillator (AED) may be dispatched alongside first responders to determine whether it can deliver life-saving equipment faster and increase the likelihood that bystanders begin treatment before emergency personnel arrive.
Early CPR and rapid defibrillation save lives. In fact, clinical studies show that every minute defibrillation is delayed decreases the chance of survival by approximately 7–10%.
Join us to see the drone in action, learn about the research study, and receive free hands-only CPR and AED education. Discover how you can help save a life while learning about an innovative approach that could shape the future of emergency medical response.
