“Leviathan” Short Film Premiere (WL)
March 29 @ 1:30 pm
FreeLeviathan is a short (18-minute) film produced by local author Bradley Harper, based on his Edgars-Nominated novel, A Knife in the Fog. The story transports the viewer back to London in 1888 when a mysterious figure stalked the women of Whitechapel. A young, relatively unknown author and physician, Arthur Conan Doyle, is asked to serve as a consultant to the London Metropolitan Police to see if the scientific methods his fictional detective employs can be used to stop the slaughter of innocents. Joining him are Professor Joseph Bell, Doyle’s former professor of Surgery and the real-life inspiration for Sherlock Holmes, and Miss Margaret Harkness, a journalist living in Whitechapel, who serves as a guide to the two men who are very much out of their depth.
Can these three different people unite as a team to fight this evil? You’ll have to view the film to see what they learn about the killer and of one another.”
The film will debut in London on March 8. This will be its North American premiere. You are welcome to walk the red carpet and pose for photos with the author. There will be two showings: the first is at 1:30pm, and the second showing is at 3:00pm.
